Since its inception, Angra Partners has been associated to Monitor Capital, the financial arm of the Monitor Group, a world renowned strategic consulting firm. Monitor Capital has 3 private equity funds under management with an aggregate capital commitment of US$ 1,5 billion.

In early 2004, Angra Partners was selected by a group of large institutional investors to take over the management of Fundo Investidores Profissionais – FIA, a private equity fund with joint-control investments in several infrastructure companies in Brazil.
